Billy Queen and High Point, NC Mayor Jay Wagner at the Board of Elections in Greensboro, where Wagner endorsed Queen for Sheriff of Guilford County.
Billy Queen Garner’s Key Endorsement in County Sheriff’s Race
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Billy Queen, GOP candidate for Guilford County Sheriff, has picked up a key endorsement from High Point Mayor Jay Wagner. Wagner accompanied Queen to the Board of Elections in Greensboro on December 6, where Queen, who officially announced for the position in October, formalized his campaign in accordance with county regulations. Wagner said he is supporting Queen because, “I think Billy is the right person for the job. His experience and vision for the Sheriff’s office make him stand out as the best candidate.” The endorsement from the popular 2-term mayor of a major metropolitan area was warmly received by Queen, who said, “This is an incredible Christmas gift. It has come at the perfect time to help us launch our post-holiday run! I am truly appreciative of Jay’s public support for our campaign, and of the widespread support I have received from within the Guilford County GOP leadership.” Queen’s 30-year law enforcement career ranges from High Point patrol officer to the US Border Patrol and undercover ATF agent, as well as management positions within the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, nationwide and in Washington, DC. He was raised in Guilford County, and attended local schools before joining the US Army and serving in Vietnam with the Green Berets. Queen is campaigning on a platform of reducing crime, rectifying the deplorable state of department staffing, improving morale, and improving community relations. “I intend to step outside the box and implement programs that work for industries outside of law enforcement,” Queen said. Queen received widespread acclaim for infiltrating the Mongol motorcycle gang as an undercover agent for the ATF, in addition to numerous other undercover successes involving extremist groups throughout the country. Queen often notes during his campaign appearances that “I have worked coast to coast and from Canada to Mexico.” He is an international expert on criminal gangs, and has authored two best-selling non-fiction books based on events in his career.Queen’s first milestone will be the Mar. 8, 2022 GOP primary. Queen points out that since the current sheriff was elected more than three years ago, the department has been fundamentally changed – not for the better – and will require a complete overhaul “from a fresh set of eyes,” to raise it to a new and better level of professional excellence. Additional information on Queen’s background and campaign including platform details, how to donate, volunteer, and contact campaign staff, can be found at www.BillyQueenforSheriff.com.

1998, William "Billy" Queen was a veteran law enforcement agent with a lifelong love of motorcycles. When a “confidential informant” made contact with his boss at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, offering to take an agent inside the San Fernando chapter of the Mongols (the scourge of Southern California, and one of the most dangerous gangs in America), Queen jumped at the chance, not realizing that he was kick-starting the most extensive undercover operation inside an outlaw motorcycle gang in the history of American law enforcement.
Under and Alone is a breathless, adrenaline-charged read that puts you on the street with some of the most dangerous men in America and with the law enforcement agents who risked everything to bring them in.

2021 - "As a 28-year veteran of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), retiring in December 2017 as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Los Angeles Field Division (LAFD), I know what dedication, experience, and selflessness it takes to lead a law enforcement organization such as the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office. I am writing this letter of recommendation, endorsing William “Billy” Queen for Sheriff. Not only does Billy embody these qualities, but in his long productive ATF career, protecting the public and serving the nation, Billy proved time and time again his unwavering commitment to excellence and duty.
I have known Billy for over 30 years, having worked with him on high profile investigations conducted on violent criminal street gangs, firearms and narcotics traffickers, and outlaw motorcycle organizations in and throughout Los Angeles and neighboring counties. As operators on the ATF Special Response Team (SRT), we conducted numerous high-risk search and arrest warrants to aid in the perfection of federal and state criminal prosecutions. Tireless hours were spent conducting surveillance to gather intelligence on criminal activities by individuals and groups responsible for firearms and narcotics crimes in neighborhoods and communities throughout ATF’s LAFD area of responsibility that spanned eleven counties in Southern California to the Arizona border, working with our brothers and sisters in federal, state, and more specifically local law enforcement. In ATF, Billy served with distinction and honor. He proved himself as a leader having been a part of my development as a young agent, contributing to my success and achievement as SAC of the ATF LAFD.
I have absolute faith that if elected, Billy will continue to promote the best values of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office and the professionalism achieved by those who served before him. I am honored to endorse William “Billy” Queen and urge the citizens of Guilford County to support him as your next Sheriff."

2021 - "Truth and Trust - two words core to the very character of William "Billy" Queen. Throughout decades of selfless and heroic service to his country and community, Billy never buckled, never compromised. Past truly is prologue, and Billy's storied history is larger-than-life and fraught with extraordinary honor and sacrifice. Those of us he saved and those of us with whom he served can never repay him - nor would he want us to do so. Now, during the times of today, Billy is ready to serve the people of Guilford County as their Sheriff. Without challenge, no greater leader and patriot could possibly grace their community."
